I’m Alex Douglas.
I have a passion for travel. I have traveled to over 70 countries in 4 continents. I have been every type of traveler from a budget backpacker staying in hostels to a luxury traveler eating at Michelin star restaurants and staying in 5 star hotels. I love to help my fellow travel enthusiasts get the best value out of there vacations and trips.
I was born in Washington D.C., I think being born in the capitol was the foreshadow for my life. I could not wait to start my adventure, so at 18 I moved as far as I could at the time, to Colorado. I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where i got to experience meeting new people from all over the world. This is where I got my start to travel. I worked at a leading travel company specializing in small group travel. I traveled to Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean during my time in Colorado.
Once I graduated I worked in the tourism industry, traveling to seasonal travel destination towns all over the United States in the Caribbean. I would spend 6 months in a new incredible location exploring the culture, food, and especially the drinks.
About my journey
After a few years of traveling, I finally found my landing base, Bar Harbor Maine. This beautiful island is home to Acadia National Park. I hiked as much as I could, ate as much seafood as I could, and enjoyed the coastal Maine life.
Life is about the adventures you take and the memories you make.
During the winters I would travel to new countries in Southeast Asia. I fell in love with the way of life in these culturally rich and diverse places.
